Wind power

Most of the times there is wind at coastal areas, as well in Nigeria. Larger wind power plants are able to cover a significant part of the electricity demand. These “windmills” have one major disadvantage: when their grid suffers a blackout the mechanical forces hitting the generator in the center of the propeller in 60 to 100m elevation can severely damage the powerplant. Beside that any kind of energy storage involves very high costs again.

We don’t know any serious German company today delivering wind power plants to Nigeria as there is no stable grid yet.
