Transformer

Larger installations normally receive their PHCN power via 11kV power lines. On your own site you then transform it down to 400V before supplying to your consumers. Your diesel generators are often located at the 400V end of the transformers. So each diesel runs its own little standalone system. Depending on your „personal“ grid within your facility we most likely will access with an additional transformer with 11kV at about the same position where PHCN has delivered the power so far. The advantage is that you can work with the same infrastructure as before except that you don’t have a connection with PCHN anymore. Your installation demand will be very low.

For your remaining grid the consequence will be that nearly everything stays the same except

  • you don’t suffer hourly or daily or weekly black outs any more
  • you significantly cut your energy costs
