Biomass power

Digesting organic material, producing biogas out of that and powering gas generators is commonly used in Germany. All of these installations only work within a running grid.

When you feed your digestion tank today with organics like cow manure, maize or other products, these materials release their energy in form of biogas over a period of up to 15 weeks. That means that you cannot just stop the generator due to a blackout as the “fresh” biogas is constantly forwarded. Any excess biogas not consumed in the gas generator has to be flared away. Considering the work and money invested into producing or gathering the feedstock for the digestion any blackouts are not affordable.
